Can I purchase online?
Although it's possible to purchase most products online, the product line that is most practical for online transactions is Umbra. The majority of Umbra pieces can be shipped via Canada Post. All prices quoted are in Canadian $ currency. In the case of smaller items, the shipping costs will be indicated on the web-site at the time of purchase. In the case of larger and more bulky items, you will be contacted and given the details concerning shipping arrangements and costs.

I live in the U.S.A. - can I purchase online from Urbane?

Urbane is a Canadian company and does not ship to the U.S.
Sorry, but we limit our online sales to CANADIAN customers only. Shipping costs combined with import duties and tariffs make it impractical and uneconomical to deal with U.S. clients.


How soon can I receive an item purchased online?
Availability of a product depends on the item. Most decor products are in stock and will be shipped promptly. Furniture products are frequently available in a wide choice of colors, fabrics, finishes etc. These items are custom ordered based on your choices and generally take longer to be shipped. You will be advised as to the anticipated ship date of any product ordered. For more information on a particular item, contact us.

Do I have to pay taxes on my online purchase?
Urbane.ca is a Canadian site. G.S.T. (5%) is applied to all online purchases. For Saskatchewan residents only, the P.S.T (5%) will also be applied to your purchase. For those living in the rest of Canada, only the G.S.T. is applied. Saskatchewan does NOT have H.S.T. For those clients living in the rest of Canada, we are only obliged to charge you the G.S.T. on your purchase. This rate is 5 %.

How do I search for products?
The products we offer online are organized by categories. To find a product in a specific category, simply click Search for Products at the top right of the menu to go to our Search page. There you will find a pull-down menu to choose a category to search.

There may be more than one page of product category to view. Page numbers will be shown at the top and bottom of each page. Click on the product image or title to access all the details you’ll need to order that item. Contact us if you cannot find a specific item you are looking for or if you have further questions.

How do I place an order?
Click on any product image or title to access all the details you will need to order that product. To add an item to your order, select the quantity and product attributes you desire, and then click the Add to Cart button. Each time you add an item, you will see a small window appear which will ask you to Continue Shopping or View Cart. When you have completed your order or at any time during your order, you may View Cart. The contents of your order will be sub-totaled for you. Once you have completed your order, select the Checkout button and your order will go to a Secure Server to complete the transaction.

What information do I need to submit to complete an order?
The information we collect is used primarily for contacting customers in regards to their order. We may need to contact customers if questions arise about the shipping/delivery, availability or status of an order. We ask that you submit your full name, address, phone number and e-mail address in the indicated areas. For returning customers, you may login using only your e-mail address and a password.

How do I know my information is secure?
When you make a purchase online, you will be connected using a secure (SSL) connection and all information will be transmitted in an encrypted form. You should see a small key (Netscape) or lock (Internet Explorer) at the bottom right of you web browser, indicating that your browser is communicating securely with our online store. What are the delivery charges for decor products ordered online?
Shipping and handling charges on decor items depend on the size and weight of a product. Smaller items are shipped via Canada Post. Orders shipped through Canada Post are insured and in the event a shipment arrives damaged, an insurance claim should be made by the customer at the receiving Post Office. Larger scale items under 75lbs and within the size restrictions are shipped via either Fed-Ex or UPS. Heavier or bulky products are shipped via common carrier. In the case of smaller items, the shipping costs will be shown online at the time of purchase. For larger or heavier items or for purchases made from more remote parts of Canada, you will be contacted by phone or email to confirm shipping costs and methods.

What are the delivery charges for furniture purchased online?
Shipping and handling charges for large furniture items vary by item and by delivery location. After you have made a furniture purchase online, we will be contacting you about shipping arrangements. Contact us if you have questions concerning your online purchase.

Can I arrange to pick up my purchase at the store?
Local clients or those who anticipate being in town can make purchases online and arrange to pick them up at the store location. Any shipping charges that are calculated and added to the online purchase price will be reversed once the merchandise is picked up at our store.

       
 

You may exchange any item purchased online for an alternate item or return it for a credit note which can be used towards future purchases. Cash refunds are not available. Exchanges can be made in person or by mail. If a credit note is issued, it will be worth the value of the item including taxes. Credit notes expire 12 months from date of issue. Shipping charges are non-refundable. Urbane will not assume the transportation charges for any items returned by Courier, Canada Post or otherwise. If you wish to exchange an item or return it for a credit note, contact us at 1-888-347-3645 for further instructions.

Any returned merchandise must be in as-new condition including original packaging.

For large furniture items, we carefully inspect each item before leaving our warehouse. We encourage you to do the same upon receipt of your purchase. In the event that damage occurs in transit, or if you discover a defect in manufacture, please contact us immediately.

       
 
The personal information we collect is intended to improve communications with our customers. When a purchased item is not immediately available, many of our customers appreciate receiving an e-mail to update the status of their order. We also may need to contact customers by phone, mail or e-mail about questions concerning their order.

Our customers are protected at all times against misuse of information. When you make a purchase online, either a solid key or locked padlock icon will appear in the lower right of your browser window. This icon insures that your transaction is secured and all information will be transmitted in an encrypted form.
